allyconner  > Friends > Truman Bowling Alley
My good friend, Ivette, works for the White House. She reserved the Truman Bowling Alley which is the official White House Bowling Alley. It's in the Eisenhower Building across the street from the White House but it's where all the Presidents, First Ladies, and Big Wigs at the White House go bowling. It was soooo much fun. And very cool to think we were in the same place that all these great people of our nation's past have been. What a cool opportunity! Thanks Ivette.

allyconner > Nali and Ivette leading the way through the basement of the Eisenhower Building. I could touch the ceiling it was so low. I felt like we were in the Goonies movie.
allyconner > We took a quick left and then there was the door. Ivette is letting us in...we were all super excited to see what was behind that door.
allyconner > Me and Ivette inside the Truman Bowling Alley. There was a small kitchenette area behind us. There was a mini fridge directly behind us, a sink just to the left of this picture and a countertop where we put some snacks.
allyconner > One of the pictures of past bowlers. There wasn't a label on the picture to tell me who all this was. But I thought it showed what the Alley used to look like.
allyconner > We only recognized Ari Fleischer - front row, second from the left. We were thinking maybe Cabinet Members or Heads of Departments. Again, no labels. But you can see the Bowling Shoe cabinet. There were probably 40 pairs of shoes in there. Just to the left were the lockers.
allyconner > Here it is! It's not very big but it was really cool being in there. Think of how many Presidents and First Ladies have bowled here! We were all grinning from ear to ear. That was definitely one of the coolest things I've gotten to do in DC.
allyconner > Gotta have rules.
allyconner > W. He must have had it redone because those bowling pins were not there on the back wall anymore.
allyconner > Seems they can't get rid of those awesome chairs from the 70's. The colors were far out.
